About McQuaide Microsystems

Welcome to McQuaide Microsystems! I have been in the MEMS design and fabrication field since my graduate work at the University of Washington, where my thesis focused on the design of a MEMS mirror used in retinal display systems that gave visually impaired people the ability to clearly see digital content. Over the past 20+ years I have worked on design, fabrication, and testing of a wide range of MEMS devices including accelerometers, VR/AR display system actuators, piezoelectric transducers, microfluidic devices, mass-transfer printing techniques used in AI hardware, bioMEMS, and others. I have worked on staff at universities including UCLA, the University of Washington, and North Seattle College, as well as for private companies (both well-established and startups). I founded McQuaide Microsystems in 2020 after the pandemic changed my work opportunities- I was contacted by a range of companies needing remote support for MEMS device development: some at the early stages of R&D prototyping, and others optimized and ready for mass production at a foundry level. I learn so much from each new project and have a passion for it- believe it or not I really do love to spend a day in the cleanroom on science. I look forward to discussing your project and moving forward on cutting edge microtechnology with you!
